  • Overview

    The advancements in microelectronics, satellite and optical fibre technology, analog and digital communication techniques have resulted in developing complex electronics devices, circuits and equipments capable of implementing fast and efficient telecommunication systems. Real time transfer of audio and video signals is now possible with recent trends in broad band technologies. Penetration of electronics & communication has now revolutionalized other areas like health care, instrumentation, automation, remote sensing, signal processing etc.The department offers two separate degree courses viz: ‘Electronics Engg.’ and Electronics & Telecommunication Engg.’. The curricula of both the courses includes core Electronics subjects.

    The ‘Electronics & Telecommunication’ course focuses on the latest subjects in communication field. The department has advanced laboratories to give practical training to the students on emerging areas. Some of the advanced Softwares available are Tanner Tools, Altera, Microwind, MATLAB with different toolboxes, Octave, Multisim and Orcad. The special purpose equipments like Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Optoelectronics Trainer, DSP processor kits, FPGA and CPLD kits, logic analyzer and signature analyzer are available in the department.The department offers expertise to the students backed by audiovisual teaching aids. Multimedia CDs on various technical subjects, industrial training facility and industry institute interface are made available to the students.It is normal practice to host seminars, workshops, guest lectures of eminent personalities in the related field. The national and state level conferences, workshops and training programs are also organized in the department.The department also has P.G. Course M.E.(E&TC- VLSI & Embedded Systems). The advanced VLSI Embedded System, speech processing & Advanced Digital Signal Processing laboratories supplements the course.

    Technology and Electronics make the most amazing combination. It can be attributed to a plethora of aspects that have been observed in the present era. There is an immense growth in the field of technology and there is that rising significance of electronics. This field has a lot to study, get informed about and pursue practical application. And, the scopes are enormous.

    The work responsibility of Electronics & Telecommunication engineer comprises of designing of a variety of telecommunication equipments. These include switches, routers, modems and radio links. The fields which require them involve Telephony, Paging, mobile communication, internet, email, e-commerce and the list continues. The fact is that there is no limit to the application and capacity of this particular branch of Engineering.

    • PEO 1: capable to develop the basic skills in Engineering along with conceptual understanding to cater the need of industry.

    • PO 1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals,and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

    It gives me immense pleasure in welcoming, on behalf of the Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering at G.H. Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pune. The Department established in 2007 running UG Programs since 2007, PG programs in VLSI & Embedded Systems since 2011 and Ph. D program from 2015.Department students have got top ranks in SPPU examinations and excel in academics by setting new heights every year. The department offers excellent infrastructure and resources in the form of knowledgeable faculty, state of art laboratories and a library having a vast collection of books enhanced with digital library facility.

    It has faculty, PG and research students working in research areas related to latest & emerging technologies such as VLSI and Embedded Systems, wireless Communication, Signal processing and Power electronics. Moreover, the department is involved in a number of technical and co-curricular activities encouraging students to broaden their horizons of thoughts, to innovate and implement their ideas that are facilitated by incubation center and problem solving groups. Also, it maintains a great rapport with industries and R&D organizations. The department has got research funding from Pune University, AICTE and other funding agencies. We regularly conduct seminars, workshops and conference on the cutting edge technology for faculty and student so as to keep pace with latest technology trends in Electronics & Telecommunication domain.

    Electrical Engineering is definitely that timeless branch of engineering. The reason is simple. There has and will continue to be the need for electricity and electric machines. Thus, well qualified and well versed Electrical Engineers are always in demand.
